Chinese smartphone vendor, Meizu has a big list of smartphones to roll-out this year. A device(Meizu mBlu S6 aka M6s) from the list surfaced on Tenna a few days back spilling out the hardware details about the smartphone. Meizu mBlu is expected to launch on 17th January. The previous leaks confirmed that it would feature an 18:9 bezel-less display with a side mounted fingerprint on the power button(similar to Nextbit Robin). Well, the official teaser points something else yet obvious in 2018. Since Vivo has already showcased a smartphone with an under-display fingerprint sensor at CES 2018.
It is pretty unlikely, Meizu wouldn’t feature dual fingerprint sensors(side + under-display) in a smartphone. The Official poster has the explanation of the previous render and confirms Meizu mBlue S6 would be featuring an under-screen fingerprint. The fingerprint icon on the display is citing the adaptation of the 2018 tech. Vivo initiated the under-display fingerprint id by successfully implementing Synaptics grown technology in a smartphone. Meizu may join the trend though there are no words if it would be the same Synaptics backend technology or even efficient.
A Weibo user posted a video with a kinda different type of screen unlock method. The leaked video is referring to an under-display fingerprint sensor just below the virtual home button.
Just to recall, Meizu mBlu S6 to have a 5.7 inches 18:9 ratio IPS HD display. It might be unveiled in two variants: Asian variant with a Hexa-core Exynos 7872 and the global one to have MediaTek MT6750 SoC. Expected to pair with 3GB RAM with 64GB storage. It would have a 3000mAh battery with adaptive fast charging support.
For the further clarification, the Meizu M6S aka Meizu mBlu S6 will be official on 17th January. Though it is obvious to adopt the new technology and the teaser just points towards the successful implementation of it.
