Moto G5s Plus just recieved Android Oreo 8.0 Update with December Security Patch

It’s just been a week when Lenovo owned Motorola surprised everyone suddenly by pushing their recently launched Moto X4(Indian variant) with an Oreo Update. The update came along with latest December 2017 security patch. They just added Moto G5S Plus in the Android Oreo brigade. Motorola has started to roll out the update for Moto G5s Plus and G5s device.

Moto g5s plus Oreo update

This is an official update. I’ve not opted for any soak test. The oreo update weighs 1168.3MB with December security patch included and comes with build number OPW27.12. There are lots of minor tweaks with awesome UX(user experience) update. With the update, there is an addition of features like Notifications dots, Picture in Picture(PiP) mode, and adaptive application icons.

Apart from this, there are some addition of features in the official moto app with some new moto gestures. A preferred night mode is now available with a complete dark theme, three-finger tap screenshot, moto keys and attentive display. Three-finger tap to screenshot feature has already been added to the moto x4 with oreo update.

From the past, I’d seen the major improvement in the battery backup and the charging speed. The Moto G5s Plus now last more than 1.5 a day with 5-6 hours screen-on time and charges as quickly within just 1 hour and 10 minutes with original Moto 15W charger.

There are the minor improvements on the camera part as well. The camera lag has been fixed now. Also, the video stability seems to be improved now.

Just to recall, Moto G5S Plus was unveiled back in August 2017. This device was first to feature the dual camera trend in the budget range from Motorola. The G5s Plus features a 5.5 inches (1080x1920p resolution) display. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor and comes with 4 gigs of RAM. The device features stock android and comes free from any bloats.

Apart from it, Moto G5s Plus features dual 13MP rear camera setup, a regular one with secondary monochrome lens for better details. And an 8MP selfie shooter along with led flash. It packs a 3000mAh battery. The fingerprint sensor is mounted in the front.

Moto G5s Plus was unveiled at Rs. 15,999. Recently it received a price cut of Rs. 1000. This device is currently available to purchase at just Rs. 14,999.
